Lynn provided an excellent experience in purchasing our new home in Deep Cove. We had a bit of a shock at the prices on the North Shore, but the access to downtown, and proximity to the amazing outdoor recreation of BC was very attractive. This was a big move for us, and huge change from Toronto. We had limited time, and just a few weekends to study the listings and make viewing appointments.
Lynn asked a lot of questions and discussed many options so
we had choices from condos, to townhouses, but a single-family house was what
we were looking for. Although we looked at some great houses, some properties
we were in and out of so quick it would make your head spin. Lynn’s keen eye
noticed significant defects that were clearly not reflected in the price, and
not worth our risk as buyers.
Once we saw our new home, nothing else was going to work for
us, although the price was more than we anticipated. However, Lynn knew we owned
rental property back east, so we were familiar with tenants. With the rental
income, it brought the carrying cost right into our price range. She new her
numbers, and did an excellent job of negotiating for us against competing bids.
So how did the story end? Our tenants turned out to be
bikers. Now in Toronto that is often a problem but on the North Shore this
usually refers to Mountain Bikers, and they have turned out to be great people.
We have a view of the sun coming up over the mountains along Indian Arm. We
take our dog for a walk through the west coast forest down to the ocean. Our
girls joined the snowboarding team, and the rowing team at school and it takes
us 15 minutes to get to the ski lifts on Mount Seymour. This is a very long way
from Toronto… Thanks

As a fulltime resident of Toronto, who had accepted a new job in Vancouver, with 2 months to sell a home in Toronto, organize and move a family of 4, pick an ideal family neighborhood, enroll our 5 and 7 year old in schools and find a new home in a sellers market, that would retain its value and meet our needs would require something nothing short of a small miracle.

This letter comes as a very belated but heartfelt thank you for your assistance in the purchase of 1024 Duchess. Needless to say, with Bill out of town working and my being on my own in Vancouver, it was a most stressful experience I've had to handle but You were simply amazing! You helped such a great deal to ease my fears and you assisted me in taking control of the situation from start to finish. We were just out on a Sunday drive to visit my brother who lives in Altamont. My girlfriend had a spent the day teaching at Hollyburn Elementary and had called to tell me how impressed she was with the school. I wanted to see the school out of curiosity and we happened across this intriguing fixer-upper on Duchess
I asked Bill to stop so that I could take down the details and within the next minutes you drove up and asked me if I would like some information on the house. You got out of the car, walked us around the property and introduced us to the owner who just happened to turn up!
Upon entering, it was love at first sight ! I was completely taken by the ocean views, the layout of the rooms on the main floor and the character. Looking beyond the old paint, dated wallpaper and ancient drapes, we could see that this was a diamond in the rough! I was surprised to learn that the For Sale sign had only gone out a few hours previous.
We were the first ones to see the home and we knew we had to act quickly. We could not imagine being able to purchase a home without one of us selling our respective homes first. However, your banking recommendation also made the financing a reality. It was a serendipitous little Sunday drive!
Thank you for checking in with me daily in those weeks to see how things were and for easing so much of my stress. You attention to detail was amazing and I am grateful and will recommend your services to everyone I meet. I don’t believe we would have gotten our little dream house had it not been for your ability to negotiate on our behalf during the bidding war. Thank you so very much for all of your kind assistance.
